Lights & Sirens
Every emergency vehicle in the city - police cars, ambulances and fire trucks - has a siren controller. When you sit in the driver's seat or the front passenger seat, a siren panel appears at the bottom-centre of your screen in your department's colour (blue for police, red for EMS, gold for fire). It shows whether your lights and siren are on, which tone is selected and when the horn is sounding.
Each department has its own siren sounds:
| Department | Tones | Extra |
|---|---|---|
| Police | Wail, Yelp, Phaser, Hi-Lo | Rumbler - a deep low-frequency rumble you feel more than hear, great at busy junctions |
| EMS | Wail, Yelp, European two-tone Hi-Lo | - |
| Fire | Mechanical wail (spins up and winds down), Yelp, Hi-Lo | Air horn - swaps the horn for a deep truck air horn |
Everyone nearby hears your siren: it gets louder as you get closer, moves from left to right as you pass, drops in pitch once you have gone by, and sounds muffled to people inside closed cars or buildings.
How it works
- Get in the driver's seat or front passenger seat of an emergency vehicle. The siren panel appears.
- Press Q to turn the lights on or off. The lights come on silent.
- Press Caps Lock to turn the siren on or off. If the lights were off, this turns both on.
- Press R to switch to the next tone. You can switch while the siren is running.
- Hold E for the horn. In emergency vehicles this is the emergency air horn instead of the normal car horn.
- Press Shift to toggle the Rumbler (police) or Air horn mode (fire).
Get out with the siren running and it stops by itself, but the lights stay on so your car still lights up the scene. Using the 10-99 panic button while you are in an emergency vehicle turns on the lights and siren for you.
All of these keys can be changed in Settings > Key Bindings > FiveM (look for the NCRP siren entries).
Sirens too loud or too quiet? Type /sirenvol followed by a number from 0 to 100, for example /sirenvol 60. This only changes what you hear.
Thanks! Staff will look at it.
