Saving + Last Location
When you're saved
Your character is saved automatically about once a minute while you play. You're also saved when you log out, when you crash and when the city restarts, so you never need to do anything yourself.
What's saved: your cash and bank, your job, your looks, your character record and where you're standing.
If you crash within a minute of moving, you might come back a short way from where you were. Your money is never lost, because money changes are saved straight away.
Coming back: Last location
When you pick a character, choose Last location to come back where you left off.
- Outside: you come back on the spot you were standing.
- Inside a home or other private interior: you come back at the building's front door, not inside.
- In a private area (for example a test drive): you come back at the last normal spot you stood before going in.
Logging out while dead
If you were dead when you logged out, you come back dead on the same spot. Logging out doesn't skip your death. After a short wait you wake up at the nearest hospital, as normal.
Restarts
The city restarts at 06:00 and 18:00. You'll get warnings in game before it happens. Everyone is saved just before the restart, so you can keep playing until the last moment.
Playtime
Your playtime only goes up while you're playing a character. If you don't move or press anything for 5 minutes, you count as AFK and your playtime pauses. It starts again as soon as you move.
