NCRP NIGHT CITY RP

Night City Wiki

Guides for every part of life in the city.

Tuning & Upgrades

Beyond repairs, mechanics fit turbos, nitrous kits, engine sound swaps and every customs change a customer orders (paint, wheels, body kits, lights, tint and more). Shops with a dyno print a dyno sheet. This is the mechanic's side - customers read Customizing Your Vehicle.

You earn mechanic XP for turbo, nitrous, swap and dyno work. Customers pay the prices your shop sets - defaults are in Running a Mechanic Shop.

Before you begin

Turbo kits, nitrous bottles, swap kits, paint and body panels are built at your shop's workbench - see Mechanic Job.

1

Fitting a turbo

  1. Third eye (hold Left Alt) on the car → Repair → Turbo, nitrous & engine sound → (the tuning menu) → Fit Turbo Kit.
  2. The hood opens; pass three skill checks. The turbo is its own part and wears as the car is driven.
2

Fitting and refilling nitrous

  1. Tuning menu → Fit the Nitrous Kit. The customer's kit is used and the bottle starts full.
  2. When the bottle is empty, tuning menu → Refill the bottle uses one Nitrous.

How the customer boosts and purges is in Customizing Your Vehicle.

3

Swapping the engine sound

  1. Tuning menu → pick a sound (V12 supercar, muscle V8, turbo inline-6, rally 4-cylinder, dirt bike, big diesel truck and more).
  2. Pass three skill checks. It only changes the sound; Put the factory sound back restores the original.
4

Doing a customs order

  1. When a customer's kiosk order is PAID, third eye on the car → Work order → pick the order.
  2. Pick a line → Do it now. When every line is done the new look is saved with the car.
