Clothing

Clothing in Night City RP consists of physical inventory items. Buy individual pieces, then equip them through your inventory.

You can trade, store, drop or gift clothing like other items.

Each shop specializes in particular clothing types. Player-owned stores may have sales assistants and prices set by the owner.

Buying Clothing

  1. Visit a store counter and press E.
  2. Select a category, choose a piece and pick its colour.
  3. For tops, adjust Sleeve fit + / - until your arms look correct.
  4. Press Add to basket. You can purchase up to 12 pieces at once.
  5. Select Wear it now if you want to equip your purchases immediately.
  6. Choose Cash or Card and complete checkout.

Trying on clothing does not change your equipped outfit. You need enough free inventory slots and carrying capacity for every piece you purchase.

At staffed player-owned stores, a sales assistant approves checkout. If nobody responds in time, the NPC clerk completes the sale.

Wearing Clothing

Press TAB to open your inventory. The Equipment panel displays clothing slots around your character.

ActionHow to Do It
Put on clothingDrag the item into its equipment slot, double-click it, or select it and press WEAR.
Replace clothingEquip another piece in the same slot. The previous piece moves into your pockets.
Remove clothingDrag it into an empty pocket slot, double-click it, or right-click and select Take off.

Removed clothing returns to your inventory as a physical item, such as a hat, top, pants or shoes.

Removing gloves restores your normal arms. Gloves remain equipped when you change your top.

Police and EMS uniform pieces cannot be purchased or removed into your pockets. Change uniforms at your department’s locker room — see Appearance.

Clothing Rarity & Stock

Clothing comes in Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic rarities. Legendary pieces are not sold in stores.

Select NCRP only in the shop to browse original pieces. The “X left” label shows remaining stock. Epic restocks are announced in chat.

Mannequin Outfits

Player-owned stores may display complete outfits on mannequins.

  1. Approach a mannequin and press E.
  2. The shop opens with the displayed outfit in your basket.
  3. Review the pieces and any look discount before checking out.

Removing a piece from the basket removes the outfit discount.
