Beekeeping - Night City Apiary

Look after the hives in the Grapeseed fields, harvest honey frames, spin them into jars at the honey house and sell
them to the Grapeseed Honey Co-op. Find the gold Night City Apiary pin on the map.

Getting started

  1. Talk to Mags, the head beekeeper ([E]) and pick Start shift. You change into work clothes and the apiary

pickup appears in the truck bay.

  1. Grab free smoker fuel and mite strips from the supply crate next to Mags (once per shift).
  2. Walk into the hive yard. Every box has an [E] Work hive prompt while you are on shift.

Working a hive

TaskWhat you needWhat it doesPay
Smoke the hive1 smoker fuelCalms the bees for 2.5 minutes - far fewer stings-
Inspect the frames-Shows exact honey, health, queen and mites for 30 min$12
Treat the mites1 mite stripClears mites, +10 health$30
Re-queen1 queen cageSaves a queenless or collapsed hive$75
Harvest frameshoney 80%+2-4 honey frames-

A hive can only be inspected every 20 minutes. Honey grows in real time (even while you are offline): about 6 hours
from empty to 80%. Sick hives (mites, no queen) fill slower, lose health, and can collapse.

Honey house + co-op

  • At the honey house extractor ([E] Uncap & spin frames) up to 6 frames go in at once: you uncap them, then keep the

needle in the gold zone while cranking. Each frame gives about 3 jars of honey, every 2 frames a piece of beeswax.
Miss the skill check and some honey spills.

  • Sell to Dale at the co-op: $7 a jar (+$3 with a honey jar label), $10 per beeswax. The co-op only buys what you

spun on this shift.

  • You may keep up to 10 jars a shift ("Sell, but keep 10 jars"). You cannot clock out while holding more than 10

unsold shift jars; if the shift is aborted the co-op takes back anything over 10.

Stings

Working without the Full Bee Suit or on a hive you did not smoke can get you stung: a flash, a little damage and an
itch for a few seconds. Suit + smoke = almost never. Harvesting upsets bees the most, and sick hives are angrier.

Pay, target and crews

  • Target 45 tasks (inspections, treatments, re-queens, jars + wax sold); after it everything pays overtime x1.5.
  • Finish the shift at Mags with the target met for a $250 bonus (-$150 if the pickup is not back at the apiary).
  • Crews of up to 4: invite people standing with you. Each extra member raises the target by 60%. Members who do

less than a quarter of the average get no cut.

Tips

  • Smoke, then inspect, then treat or re-queen, then harvest - all while the bees are calm.
  • The ops board (talk to Mags, or /beekeepingboard) can mark ready hives and hives needing care on your map.

Staff

  • /beekeepingplace <beekeeper|buyer|bay|honeyhouse|supplies|apiary|meadow> moves a place to you. apiary and

meadow are the centres of the hive grids (your heading turns the grid).

  • /beekeepinghives lists every hive (honey/health, NQ = no queen, M = mites).
  • /beekeepingfill <A1..W10|all> [honey%], /beekeepingsick <hive> <mites|queen>, /beekeepingreset for testing.
  • Kit commands: /beekeepingplaces, /beekeepinglevel, /beekeepingpoints, /beekeepingcrews, /beekeepingendshift,

/beekeepingoutfit save|reset <overalls|beesuit|gold|master> (fix the suit looks by wearing them and saving).
