NCRP NIGHT CITY RP

Night City Wiki

Guides for every part of life in the city.

Racing

There are two kinds of racing in the city:

  • Lap races run on saved tracks. A host opens a race, others join, everyone gets a countdown, and the best times go on the track record.
  • Street races go from where the host stands to a map waypoint. Everyone pays the same cash buy-in and the first one to the finish takes the whole pot.

Racing on public roads is illegal. Police can stop and charge you. Pick your route and your moment like any other crime.

Lap races

Type /laps to open the racing menu.

  • Join an open race from the list, then wait at the start line (the gold marker). Drive too far from the start and you are kicked after 10 seconds.
  • Host a race: pick a track and the number of laps (0 = sprint from first to last checkpoint). Others can join for 5 minutes. Then pick Start my race to count everyone down, or Cancel my race.
  • Leave race takes you out of the race you're in.

During a race a panel bottom left shows the checkpoint, lap, lap time, best lap and total time. Drive between the tyre piles at each checkpoint. Your best time can become the track record.

Building tracks#

Approved track builders (and admins) see Build a track in /laps. Name the track, then drive the route in a car:

KeyWhat it does
7Add a checkpoint where your car is
8Delete the nearest checkpoint
[[key:[]] / key]Make the checkpoint narrower / wider
KSave the track
9Cancel the editor (press twice)

Street races

  1. Set a waypoint on the map as the finish (at least 100 m away).
  2. At the start line type /createrace [amount], for example /createrace 500. The buy-in comes out of your cash.
  3. Others drive up to your start line and press E at Join the street race. The buy-in is taken from their cash.
  4. When everyone is in, the host types /startrace. Cars are frozen for the start lights, then GO.
  5. Drive to the waypoint. The first racer to reach FINISH gets the whole pot.
  • /quitrace leaves a race you joined before it starts (buy-in refunded).
  • /cancelrace calls off your race before it starts (everyone refunded).
WhatAmount
Buy-in$100 to $15,000 cash, set by the host
PrizeEvery racer's buy-in, paid in cash to the winner

Staff commands

  • /lapcancel [track name] stops a race running on that track.
  • /laptogglesetup stops or allows new lap races being opened and new tracks being built.
