Newcomers Guide
New in the city? Look for the white circle on the ground at the New arrivals spawn, where you first wake up (it shows on the map as Newcomers Guide, and Press [E] For New Comers Guide floats above it). Step into it and press E to open the Guidebook.
You can open it again anywhere with /guide. It remembers the page you were on.
What's inside
- Welcome - welcome to the city, City Rules, Keybinds and / Commands (your own binds, not just the defaults), Vocabulary & Meaning (roleplay phrases) and a FAQ with GPS buttons.
- Audio & Visual - Voice Settings, Visual Settings (HUD and weapon HUD) and Clipping Softwares.
- Getting Started - Specific Locations (a postal button for every hospital, bank, store, barber and more), How To Hot Wire A Car and Useful Tips.
- Need a JOB? - every civilian job, each with GPS, postal, what you do and a picture.
- Shops / Minigames - Donator Shop (gems, F4), Pet Store, Furniture Shop, Casino, Gym, Racing.
A GPS button sets a waypoint to the place (the nearest one when there are several); the Postal under it is the number you will see at the bottom of your map there.
The small ‹ arrow next to the page hides the menu for a wider page. Press Esc to close.
Staff
Staff place guide circles where they stand:
- /guidecircle (or
/guidecircle add) puts a new circle at your feet. - /guidecircle move moves the nearest circle (within 25 m) to your feet.
- /guidecircle remove removes the nearest circle (default ones are disabled and can be turned back on).
Page photos#
Each guide page can show real photos of the place (up to 6, stacked under the text). Staff photos replace the page's default picture. Open the page in /guide and use the Staff bar at the bottom:
- Take photo here closes the guide. Line up the shot and press E (Backspace cancels). The HUD, map and guide circle are hidden for the photo. It is saved on the website and shows for everyone straight away.
- Paste an https picture link and press Add to use a picture from somewhere else (for example Discord).
- On a photo, ★ makes it the big first photo and × deletes it.
Every circle also shows in F9 → World Spawns → Newcomers Guide, where you can teleport to it, place it with the ghost placer, enable, reset or remove it. Changes apply straight away (the guide restarts by itself).
The guide text and every GPS place (Config.Places) live in ncrp-guide/shared/pages.lua. A page's default picture is images = { ... } or ncrp-guide/html/img/<page id>.png. The floating text and ring colour are in Config.Sign / Config.Marker (config.lua).
Thanks! Staff will look at it.
