Interacting with things
Everything in Night City works with E. Walk up to a fuel pump, a shop worker, a dropped bag, a workbench or a car, and a prompt like [E] Use pump floats over it. Press E to use it.
There is no third eye and nothing to hold down.
How it works
- Walk close to the thing you want to use. The prompt shows on the nearest thing you can use.
- Press E.
- If there is more than one choice (a mechanic sees Diagnose (laptop), Repair and Work order on the same car), the choices are listed under each other. Scroll the mouse wheel to pick one, then press E.
Tips
- Only the choices you can use right now show up. A mechanic sees Repair on a car, other players don't.
- Prompts don't show while you are down, cuffed, or have a menu open.
- In a vehicle you only see drive-on spots (car wash, dyno, customs kiosk, police garage, parking at a garage...). Drive onto the spot and press E from the driver seat. The horn stays quiet while that prompt shows.
- While a list is showing, the mouse wheel picks a choice instead of switching weapons.
- To smash a locked car's window you need a melee weapon in your hand.
