Unmarked Gold
Raw gold with no paperwork, heist gold bars and found IDs can only go to the fence - a man who moves every day.
Now and then a gold rock in the quarry, or a blast, turns up raw gold with no paperwork: Unmarked Gold. You might also end up with a plain
Gold Bar that was never stamped by the foundry - heist gold looks like that.
The LS Metals Exchange won't touch either. Only foundry-stamped bars with a serial are legal (see Ore Processing). That leaves one buyer: the fence - a man smoking somewhere in Los Santos, with no blip, who moves to a new spot every day.
Before you begin
- Something he buys:
Unmarked Gold
- gold bars - any bar, stamped or not
Uncut Diamond
- found IDs (
Someone's ID Card) and
Lost Wallets from the trash (see Dumpster Diving)
- Today's location of the fence.
How it works
- Find him (see the tip below).
- Walk up and press E on Talk to the stranger. A dark window shows what he buys and his prices.
- Sell one at a time or everything at once. He hands you cash.
- Leave - don't hang around after the deal.
Try to sell unmarked gold at the LS Metals Exchange. The buyer refuses - "No assay papers, no deal." - but lets slip the street where "a guy isn't so picky" today. Go there and look for a man smoking. He likes quiet places - back lots, alleys, industrial corners - so look around, not just on the main road. Other miners and crooks may know where he is today too.
Costs & rewards
- Cash, no questions asked. Unmarked gold pays well.
- A stamped gold bar is slower to make, but you can sell it anywhere legal without looking over your shoulder.
Common problems
- "No assay papers, no deal." - the exchange only buys stamped bars. Listen to where he sends you.
- He's not where he was yesterday - he moves every day. Ask again at the exchange.
- Police showed up - every sale has a chance someone reports a "suspicious gold deal". Selling one at a time means more chances.
- I can't see him - there's no blip. Walk the street and look for a man smoking.
Thanks! Staff will look at it.
