Smoking Weed
What a joint or blunt does - stress relief, the high, the munchies, addiction and the traces you leave.
Joints and blunts lower your stress and give your character a short high. They also make you hungry, build up addiction and leave traces police can pick up on - smell in the air, smell on you, and THC in a drug test for hours.
Before you begin
- A
Joint or a
Blunt. Roll them at a weed table (see Processing Weed) or buy them from someone who did.
- Baggies and bricks can't be smoked - roll them first.
The high
| Joint | Blunt | |
|---|---|---|
| Smoke time | Shorter | Longer |
| Stress relief | Good | Bigger |
| How long the high lasts | A couple of minutes | A few minutes |
While you are high your stress drops, the screen takes on a soft colour and sways a little, and you get the munchies - hunger drains about twice as fast. The grade matters: a grade S joint is clearly stronger and lasts longer than grade C. You'll see "The high wears off." when it ends.
The traces you leave
- Smell in the air - the spot where you smoked smells of weed for a little while.
- Smell on you - for a few minutes you smell strongly of weed and have red eyes if an officer looks you over.
- THC in your system - for a few hours, a police or gym drug test shows THC (cannabis) and roughly how long ago.
Joints and blunts made with tainted supplies are contaminated. Smoking one can make you ill a little later. If you didn't roll it yourself with clean supplies, a Purity Test Kit from the pharmacy tells you before your stomach does.
Smoke somewhere out of the way, give yourself a few minutes before you walk up to an officer, and remember the drug test catches you long after the smell is gone.
Common problems
- I can't smoke my baggie - only joints and blunts can be smoked. Roll it at a weed table.
- I got nothing from the joint - you put it out with X before the bar finished.
- I'm starving all of a sudden - that's the munchies. Bring a snack.
- I feel sick later - the joint was contaminated.
- My character keeps craving it - every joint and blunt adds to weed addiction (blunts a bit more). See addiction.
