Pause Menu

The Night City ESC menu - map, store, Redeem, settings, rules, wiki, Discord and leaving the city.

Press ESC in the city to open the Night City menu. It replaces GTA's normal pause screen, and your HUD stays visible behind it.

From here you reach the map, the Gem store, Redeem (store purchases and codes), GTA settings, the rules, this wiki, our Discord and the exit.

Before you begin

Nothing - every character can open it.

Getting around

  1. Press ESC to open the menu.
  2. Click a tab, or move with ← / → and press ENTER.
  3. Press ESC again to close it.

If you close another window with ESC (inventory, phone...), only that window closes - the pause menu doesn't pop up on top.

What you see

  • Top bar - your character name and server ID, your Level, your Gems (shared by your whole account) and your VIP tier.
  • Map card - a live map with a pin where you stand, your postal, street and area. Click it to open the full map.
  • Battle Pass banner - the current season; opens the battle pass. See battle-pass.
  • Daily Deals - store items picked for you. Click one to see it in the store.

Redeeming a purchase or code

  1. Open ESC → Redeem.
  2. Paste your store Transaction ID (starts with tbx-) or a giveaway code like NCRP-XXXX-XXXX.
  3. Press Redeem.

Leaving the city

  1. Press ESC → Exit.
  2. Press Disconnect (or Stay to go back).

Your character is saved where you stand, so next time you can pick Last Location in the spawn picker. To switch character, disconnect and join again. See Spawning.

Common problems

  • The GTA default screen shows instead - press ESC once more; the Night City menu should take over. If it keeps happening, reconnect.
  • Store cards say "coming soon" - the web store link isn't set yet. Use F4 for the in-game store.
  • The Wiki tab says "coming soon" - the in-game wiki isn't switched on; use the website instead.
  • My Gems don't match - Gems belong to your account, not one character, and update when you reopen the menu.
