Night City Wiki

Guides for every part of life in the city.

Construction (Night City Builders)

Build real buildings with your crew on the big downtown building site (Pillbox Hill, near the cranes). Every task
you finish moves the building forward. Finish a phase and the whole crew gets a bonus; finish the roof and the
building is "topped out" and a new one starts.

How to start

  1. Find the gold Night City Builders pin on the map and talk to Dale, the Site Foreman ([E]).
  2. Want a crew? Pick Make a crew and invite people standing with you (they press Y). Up to 6 workers.
  3. Pick Start shift. You are dressed in site gear automatically - the hard hat is part of it. Work clothes stay on

until you clock out.

The site

Task markers appear around the site (gold dots on your map, red ones are drop zones under the crane).
Walk up to a marker and press [E]. Everyone in the crew sees the same list; a task you start is yours for 2 minutes.

TaskHowUnits
Surveyclipboard at the pegs1
Jackhammerbreak up the old slab2
Hammer framinghammer the frame2
Weld beamsweld, then pass the skill check (fail = try again)3
Carry materialspick up at the stockpile ([E]), walk it to the marker (no running)2
Pour concretedrive the cement mixer onto the marker and hold [E] while it pours - keep it still6
Clear debrisbulldozer: start at the marker, push every gold pile with the blade6
Haul spoiltipper truck: load on site, dump at the scrap-yard spoil tip6
Supply runflatbed: drive to the builders merchant, load up, bring it back to the site unloading point12

/buildtask puts the nearest open task on your GPS. /buildboard opens the site board.

Phases#

Foundation -> Frame -> Walls -> Roof. The HUD shows the phase and how far it is (FRAME 63%). Each phase uses
different tasks (more welding in Frame, more carrying in Walls...). Bigger crews need more progress per phase.

Machines#

Talk to Rhonda at the equipment yard to sign machines out (one of each per crew, every crew member gets the keys):

  • Cement mixer + tipper truck: Hand tier
  • Flatbed (supply runs): Carpenter tier
  • Bulldozer: Equipment Operator tier

Return them to the equipment bay when done (they are taken back automatically when the shift ends).

Safety#

Drop-zone tasks (red) without a hard hat on can get you hurt: something falls, you go down and lose health.
Keep the hard hat on. Knee pads halve the risk.

Pay

  • Every task pays per unit (to your bank), split fairly in a crew - people who don't work don't get a cut.
  • Shift target 100 units (+60% per extra worker). Past it everything pays x1.5 overtime.
  • Every finished phase: $40 per worker crew bonus. Topping out the roof: +$100 each on top.
  • Hit the target and clock out with the foreman: completion bonus.
  • Your career tier adds up to +30% to every paycheck; VIP adds its bonus too.

Career tiers

Labourer (1) · Hand (3) · Carpenter (6) · Equipment Operator (10) · Site Foreman (14) · Project Manager (18)

Rewards shop (Build Points)

Snacks (water, coffee, energy drink, sandwich), Knee Pads (hammering + jackhammer 20% faster, half injury risk),
Welding Mask (weld checks easier), Power Drill (every hand task 25% faster), and looks: Yellow Hi-Vis,
Orange Hi-Vis, Foreman white hard hat. Gear works while it is in your pockets.

Tips

  • Carry tasks are fastest when the stockpile is close to the marker - pick the nearest one.
  • Leave the machine tasks to whoever has the machine; walkers take the hand tasks.
  • Supply runs pay the most but take a while - one driver, everyone else keeps building.

Staff

  • /constructionplace foreman|yardman|yard|stockpile|unload|spoil|supply1|supply2 - move an NPC / place to where you stand.
  • /constructionplaces - every place on your map for 2 minutes.
  • /constructiontask add <survey|jackhammer|hammer|weld|carry|pour|debris|haul> [drop] - add a task point where you stand

(drop = drop zone). /constructiontask del (nearest within 5 m), list, show (map 2 min), reset (back to config).
The first add copies the config list, so nothing is lost.

  • /constructionlevel, /constructionpoints, /constructioncrews, /constructionendshift, /constructionoutfit save|reset <look>.
  • F9 -> Jobs -> Civilian jobs -> Construction.
