Chop Shops
Strip stolen cars for used parts, body panels and scrap at a hidden chop shop - and cash in on the daily wanted list.
Somewhere in the city there are chop shops - quiet garages where nobody asks where a car came from. Bring a car there and take it apart piece by piece for parts you can sell or fit. When you're done, the car is gone for good.
There is no blip and no sign on the door. You have to find one.
Before you begin
- A car to strip. NPC cars are fair game.
- Nothing else - no job, no level. A good mechanic skill helps you pass the skill checks.
Player-owned cars are protected unless the owner reported them stolen (at the DMV or with the police). City vehicles (company and government cars) are too hot - nobody takes them.
How it works
- Bring the car right up to the chop shop spot and get everyone out.
- A floating text shows [E] Strip the nearest car [G] Make a fake plate. Press E.
- You're told today's wanted list - the models the shop pays extra for today.
- Walk to each part in turn - every door, the hood, the trunk, the wheels, the engine - with a progress bar and a skill check each.
- When every part is off, the car is deleted: "Nothing left of it but the shell - it's gone."
Chop shops don't advertise. Word gets around on encrypted, anonymous channels - people who hang out there sometimes hear where cars are being taken apart and which models are wanted today. Think like a chop shop: out of the way, a garage nobody uses, far from busy streets. Mechanics, car thieves and people who "know a guy" are your best sources - be ready to pay for the info.

- Used parts keep the condition and tier they had in the car. A dead part only gives scrap.
- Strip a model from the wanted list for a cash bonus - only the first of each model per day.
Common problems
- "This car belongs to someone and was not reported stolen - not touching it." - owned cars are off limits unless reported stolen.
- "Only scrap" - you failed the skill check on that part and wrecked it.
- Nothing happens when I press E - get everyone out and bring the car right up to the spot.
- The police showed up - power tools and car alarms are loud; neighbours sometimes report "a car is being stripped".
- The owner got their money back - the car's history shows "Stripped for parts at a chop shop", and a player owner can still claim insurance.
