Security cameras (CCTV)
Put your own cameras up around your business or your house and watch them live.
Mounting a camera
- Buy a CCTV Camera and use it from your inventory near a property you own (a business you own or run as the boss, or your house).
- If you own more than one place, pick which one the camera belongs to.
- A see-through camera follows your aim. Point it at a wall or a ceiling (not the floor). The line shows where it will look.
- E mount it · scroll turn it · ↑ / ↓ tilt · ← / → change the style · Backspace cancel
- Cameras must stay close to the property: 45 m for a business, 30 m around a house door. They can't go inside a house shell.
- Limits: 8 per business, 4 per house.
Watching
- Security Tablet: use it (or type
/cctv) to open every camera system you have. - Monitors: every business office computer has a "Security cameras" [E] option. Owners can set up extra monitors with
/cctvmonitorwhile standing in the place (/cctvmonitor removetakes one away). - Who can watch: the owner and boss, on-duty employees of the business, and anyone with a key to the house.
- In the feed: mouse / WASD look around (the camera only turns so far), scroll zoom, Q / E or ← / → next camera, H night vision (only after dark), Backspace leave. The date and time are stamped on the picture.
Managing
- Walk up to your camera: [E] Rename the camera or Take the camera down (you get it back unless it is wrecked).
Shot-out cameras
- Cameras can be shot or smashed. A broken camera hangs down, sparks and shows NO SIGNAL. The owner gets a message.
- Fix it with an Electronics Repair Kit: [E] Repair the camera (anyone with access to that system can do it).
Police
- With a CCTV warrant on a business, on-duty police can open that business's cameras with
/cctv. Every look is logged.
Staff
/cctvwarrant <business job name> [hours | off]turns the police warrant on or off (default 72 h). No name = list the active warrants./cctvclear [radius]removes cameras near you (no refund)./cctvinfoshows the nearest camera, its owner and health.
