Customizing Your Vehicle
Player-run mechanic shops change both the look and the performance of your car. Looks you design yourself at the shop's Customs kiosk; performance parts, turbos, nitrous and engine sounds are fitted by a mechanic. Speed upgrades always stay inside your car's class limit (see Vehicle Classes). Everything is saved with the car.
Before you begin
- A car you own, at a shop that is open.
- Money for the order (paid by phone invoice).
- For nitrous: a
Nitrous Kit from the Gem store.
Designing your look at the kiosk
- Park at the shop's kiosk spot, stay in the driver seat and press E at [E] Customs kiosk.
- Pick a category: Paint, Interior, Wheels, Body kit, Livery, Lights, Tint, Plate style or Horn. Each change shows on the car and goes into the cart with its price. Save build keeps a design for later under Builds.
- Press Send order and pay the invoice: Phone → Fleeca → invoices.
- A mechanic applies each change (paint jobs in the shop's paint booth). You get an e-mail when it's done.
Performance parts
- Ask a mechanic to check your car. They see each part's wear and tier: Stock, Street, Sport, Race. Better tiers make the car faster and stop better; Race parts wear out twice as fast.
- The mechanic adds the parts to a work order. Pay the invoice on your phone and they fit them.
Turbo
A mechanic (level 7 or higher) fits a turbo kit. Your car pulls harder and gains a little top speed. The turbo is a part of its own and wears down like the others.
Nitrous
- Bring your
Nitrous Kit to a mechanic (level 5 or higher). A nitrous icon with a bar appears on your HUD.
- Hold Left Shift while driving to boost - a full bottle is about five short boosts.
- Tap Left Ctrl while stopped to purge (a white cloud for show, uses a little nitrous).
- When the bottle is empty, any mechanic can refill it.
Engine sound swap
A mechanic (level 7 or higher) gives your car a different engine sound: V12 supercar, muscle V8, turbo inline-6, rally 4-cylinder, dirt bike, big diesel truck and more. It only changes the sound, and the factory sound can be put back.
Dyno run
Ask a shop with a dyno for a run. You get a Dyno Sheet showing power, torque, top speed, mileage and every part's tier.
